DIRTEA Mushroom Coffee

Our Mushroom Coffee is your all-in-one drink, but unlike normal coffee it is full of polysaccharides, beta glucans and antioxidants. It’s a blend of coffee beans with 1,000mg of three of our super mushrooms (Chaga, Lion’s Mane and Cordyceps) along with Ashwagandha and Maca for additional adrenal, digestion and hormonal support.

DIRTEA coffee has a smooth, nutty and earthy taste.

Coffee contains caffeine, a natural stimulant. Caffeine is absorbed into your bloodstream when you consume coffee, eventually crossing the blood-brain barrier. Once in the brain, caffeine blocks the action of adenosine, a neurotransmitter that promotes relaxation and drowsiness. By inhibiting adenosine, caffeine increases the activity of other neurotransmitters leading to increased alertness and focus. With the triple power of Chaga, Cordyceps, and Lion’s Mane, our DIRTEA mushroom coffee could also contribute to increased energy levels without a caffeine crash and support brain power, including focus and memory.

Coffee is a rich source of antioxidants. (1) Antioxidants help neutralise harmful free radicals in the body, which can reduce oxidative stress. By supporting the body's defence against oxidative damage, coffee, with the added power of the Chaga mushroom extract, may support the immune system.

The legend of coffee discovery traces back to Ethiopia in the 9th century. According to popular folklore, a goat herder named Kaldi noticed his goats becoming more energetic after eating red berries from a particular tree. Curious about the berries' effects, he tried them and experienced newfound alertness. The tree was later identified as the coffee plant. Coffee cultivation and consumption gradually spread across the Arabian Peninsula. By the 15th century, coffee was cultivated in Yemen, and it became famous as a stimulating beverage among Sufi monasteries to help them stay awake during nighttime prayers.

Functional mushrooms are types of fungi that are known for their health benefits beyond their nutritional compositions. The exact benefits differ depending on the mushroom. We use 3 different functional mushrooms within our Super Blends - Lion's Mane, Reishi and Tremella.

DIRTEA Chai is made with 6 Indian spices which balance together warm, aromatic flavours with sweet notes of cinnamon. Our DIRTEA Coffee is made from premium 100% Arabica beans and Lion’s Mane creating a rich, nutty flavour. Our Cacao is made with raw cacao for a deep, rich flavoured healthy hot chocolate, and our Matcha is made with 100% ceremonial-grade Japanese Matcha for a balanced, smooth velvety flavour. 

There are no firm rules around when to drink DIRTEA. Our DIRTEA Coffee and Matcha both contain caffeine so may be better suited for during the day, whilst Chai and Cacao support calm energy for both day and evening.

Per serving, you’ll get 1,000mg of Mushrooms in DIRTEA Coffee, and 2,500mg in DIRTEA Matcha and Cacao. 

We suggest a serving size of 2.5g for DIRTEA Coffee, and 6g for DIRTEA Matcha and Cacao. 

Our DIRTEA Coffee has 1.4g of Coffee per serving. Our blend purposefully has 80% less caffeine than regular coffee to provide a milder alternative to coffee all while retaining the same great taste with added mushroom benefits. 

Yes, all our Super Blends are 100% vegan. 

Our Matcha has 0.7mg of Coconut sugar per serving which provides a smoothness to the blend and is a natural, plant-based sweetener that keeps your energy levels up without the spikes. 

Our Super Blends are free from gluten however, they are packed in the same premises as products that handle nuts, seeds, cereals, and soya products containing gluten which may pose a risk of cross-contamination.

Our recommended daily serving size is 2.5g of Coffee and 6g of Cacao and Matcha. Each person is different and you may like to adjust your serving to what best suits you. 

Yes, you can combine different DIRTEA Super Blends, either in one cup or throughout the day.

It's best to store your Super Blends at room temperature and away from direct sunlight. Avoid getting any moisture into the tin and always use a clean, dry spoon. 

DIRTEA operates out of London and our products are all manufactured in the UK and are then distributed from our centre in Northampton. Our mushrooms are sourced from the best mushroom forest farms on the planet from China and Siberia.

We don’t offer samples at the moment but we hope to offer them in future. 

Our products are complementary when taken together, and we love combining different DIRTEA products for their individual benefits. 

There is plenty of evidence to support the benefits that functional mushrooms can offer children, but it’s worth noting there is no definitive research on the topic. Meanwhile, there is also no indication that they pose any danger to children.

We recommend it not be given to children under 10 years of age. At this early stage, children’s bodily systems are still developing and adapting to their environment.

As a general rule of thumb, it’s always a good idea to consult your child’s paediatrician before introducing any supplements into their diet particularly if they’re on medication.
